Evaporation Ponds

The water evaporation ponds are under construction. Their dimensions will be approximately 30m x 30m x 1.5m. Once the ponds have been securely fenced in, they will be lined to prevent any water from penetrating the surface.

Initially the ponds will be used to hold the water for hydraulic fracturing of the wells. Once the wells are in production, the produced water will be used for agricultural and aquacultural applications in this arid environment.
